The award is a pure gold medal, weighing seventy-five grams. The three symbols, Tae-Gueks, on the Prize represent the components of the human being: mind, body, and soul.
These symbols are originated from Tae-Gueks that are a source of dual principle of Yin and Yang. The Tae-Gueks are first used in 1988 Summer Paralympic Games in Seoul , Korea . Later, when the International Paralympic Committee was created in 1989, IPC adopted the Tae-Gueks as the symbols of the IPC.
